MIRROR.CO.UK – Emilia is the front runner to be cast as Rebekah Nicholson, 33, girlfriend of Leicester striker Jamie Vardy , 29, in his biopic.

Emilia, 29, voted “sexiest woman alive” last year, is known to millions as Daenerys Targaryen in the cult Game of Thrones fantasy series.

Jamie gave us one of the most jaw-dropping stories in footie after firing the Foxes to the top of the Premier League. His ascent, from earning £30 a week as an amateur to England pro in six years is beyond belief.

Hollywood bosses are said to be eyeing Vinnie Jones to play ex-manager Nigel Pearson. Star Wars star Daisy Ridley is also a contender for the role of Vardy’s girlfriend.

Filmmaker Adrian Butchart , who’s expected to release the movie in 2017, said: “In a male-dominated story, it’s important to have a strong female lead. Becky’s a combination of beauty and inner strength.” (source)

MOVIE HOLE – Hearing that Emilia Clarke (“Game of Thrones”) and Jack Huston (“Ben-Hur”) are in final negotiations to star in Phillip Noyce’s thriller ”Beyond Suspicion”. Adapted from Joe Sharkey’s book of the same name, the movie is slated to begin shooting May 23rd in West Virginia.

Amazon description of Sharkey’s novel :

Rookie FBI agent Mark Putnam was pleased with his assignment to an office in the hill country of Kentucky as it would allow him the freedom and independence to make a name for himself and get ahead. He began cultivating informants and pursuing bank robbers and chop shop operators. One of his informants, Susan Smith, an attractive drug user with connections among the rural underworld, was one of the most useful and one of the most troublesome. Becoming emotionally (and financially) dependent on Putnam, she began to inject herself into his personal life, finally taking advantage of Putnam’s troubled marriage and seducing him. This tangle of motives and loyalties ultimately led to a confrontation wherein Smith threatened to reveal that she was pregnant. Allegedly, she also attacked Putnam physically, and he responded in the heat of the moment by strangling her. Sharkey makes both this scenario and Putnam’s subsequent actions to cover up the crime psychologically believable. By implication, Sharkey condemns the FBI for encouraging the use of paid informants, but the force of his story lies in the sharp characterizations, the human drama, and the tragic inevitability of its conclusion.

RADIO TIMES – There’s much excitement in TV drama circles about ITV’s lavish eight-part drama Victoria charting the early life of the great Monarch.

But who to play her?

RadioTimes.com can reveal that ITV is aiming high and has a list of possibles which is big on the glam stakes for the Daisy Goodwin-scripted spectacular which starts filming in the autumn for broadcast next year.

Casting folk are sizing up Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke (Mother of Dragons’ Daenerys Targaryen) as well as Downton’s Lady Rose herself, the actress Lily James.

Model/actress Cara Delevingne is another contender and, if that’s not enough, actress, model and Kick-Ass star Chloe Grace Moretz is also being considered.

Last but not least on the list is Doctor Who star Jenna Coleman who, if tabloid reports about her friendship with Prince Harry are to be believed, could one day become proper royalty herself….

Made by the production company behind Poldark, Mammoth Screen, the drama will imagine Britain’s longest reigning monarch “who leaves childhood behind when she ascends the throne at the tender age of 18.”

Said Goodwin: “I’ve been fascinated by Victoria since I started reading her diaries at university. She’s a woman whose personality leaps off the page – a tiny 4 foot 11 teenager who overnight became the most powerful woman in the world, and her candour and spirit makes for an irresistible heroine. Victoria was the first woman to have it all; she had a passionate marriage, nine children and was grandmother to most of Europe’s royalty, but she also had a job, being queen of the most important nation in the world. It wasn’t easy; her reign was beset by scandal and sleaze and it was only by sheer force of personality that she prevailed. Her diaries, all 62 million words of them, give an astonishingly vivid picture of her transformation from rebellious teenager into, to my mind, our greatest queen.”

Victoria will be the screenwriting debut for the novelist who has published historical novels My Last Duchess and The Fortune Hunter.

Filming will start in September. (source)
