Emilia Clarke has opened up about her joy of working with veteran actor Jude Law in her big screen debut, Dom Hemingway.
The actress, who rose to fame in 2011 as Daenerys Targaryen in the hugely-popular TV show Game Of Thrones, couldn’t contain her excitement when she was asked what it was like working alongside the actor.
“I’ve rated Jude Law since I saw him for the first time in the Talented Mr Ripley,” she revealed. “I always thought he was a phenomenal actor, and that was backed a million per cent when I got the chance to do this film.”
Emilia, who plays Jude’s daughter Evelyn in the black comedy, added that she was “blown away” by his skills on screen.
“I remember the first day I was filming with him and I was just blown away. He’s just got so much energy and gives so much.
“He’s just so engrossed in this glorious character that he’s created. He’s utterly magnetic on the screen.”
Jude plays Dom Hemingway in the film, directed and written by Richard Shepard, who finds himself back on the streets of London after 12 years in prison. And Emilia, who takes on the role of his estranged daughter, ends up back in contact with him after he comes knocking on her door after a string of failed attempts at trying to collect what he’s owed from his gangster roots.
“He’s so charismatic and so loveable that he gets away with everything,” revealed Emilia about Jude’s illusive character.
And speaking about working with Richard Shepard, who has also directed several episodes of Girls, she added: “You meet hims and you’re like of course you’re a genius, of course you wrote this incredible script – it makes complete sense. Richard’s an amazing, wonderful, glorious, brilliant, lovely, fantastic director.”
Added in the gallery, a couple of new Dom Hemingway production stills. The movie is going to be in theaters from April 2, 2014.
‘For a girl who’s been through so much having been Dom Hemingway’s very rejected daughter, she still is so incredibly resilient and has so much to give and so much soul that I read the part and it just kind of screamed at me’, she reveals. On co-star Jude Law, presumably, she admitted, ‘The man cannot be unattractive; he will always be his beautiful self but he really transforms within this role. He’s just a phenomenal actor.’
Also added in the gallery the first Dom Hemingway production stills!
