Kit Harrington, Alfie Allen, Lena Headey and Emilia Clarke of HBO’s hit series Game of Thrones recently got together for a photo shoot for Rolling Stone. “It was really good fun,” says Headey. “We got to play around with fur – and each other, which is always good. We were just being affectionate…in a fashion way!” Adds Clarke, “In a styled, fashion-y way.” You can check out footage from the shoot in this video.

Game of Thrones actress Emilia Clarke has been talking about the first season of the hit HBO show and what she found the most memorable about it. Emilia also discussed how being a part of the Game of Thrones series has changed her life.

Clarke explained, “There are loads but I think some of the most memorable ones was episode 10. All the things sort of came to fruition, that was possibly the biggest moment I think.” Emilia then went on to reveal how her life has changed.

She added, “Completely. Upside down, inside out, totally transformed it, yeah. I never thought I would be here, doing this, not only with a company that I love so much – HBO has kind of always produced the best television around – but for a character in a book that I just care about so deeply, so it’s just become a dream come true.”
Emilia continued, “You can take the magic away and it stands alone as a compelling drama with complex characters and it’s got themes running through it that everybody can relate to. Family, jealousy, rivalry and just lots of things that people can relate to basically. Then you put the magic on top of it and it just makes it something even more special.”

A FRUIT and veg stall at Bolton Market was transformed into a 1990s Manchester flower stall to film scenes for a new com- ing-of-age drama set in the city.

Spike Island, featuring Elliott Tittensor, of Shameless fame, and Emilia Clarke, who starred in Game of Thrones, is about a group of Stone Roses fans from Manchester, determined to see their heroes on stage. The film crew has been in Bolton all week recording scenes in back streets as well as driving around the town in a 1990s bus.

And yesterday they were at Bolton’s award- winning market.

Director Mat White- cross said: “So far, for us it has been brilliant. You wouldn’t think of a film set 20 years ago as a peri- od film, but it is. We have found some incredible locations around Bolton and Greater Manchester that match what we’re look- ing for. You never know what it will be like when a rel- atively large film crew turns up somewhere like this but the market has really taken us in.”

Close to 30,000 fans watched the legendary concert in Cheshire in May, 1990. The film fol- lows a group of young council estate hopefuls in an unsigned band and is written by actor Chris Coghill, who played Happy Mondays dancer Bez in 24 Hour Party Peo- ple.

The Spike Island con- cert came to be known as the “baggy Woodstock” and came as the Madch- ester scene was at its height.

The scenes shot at Bolton Market featured Elliott as one of the group of Stone Roses fans and Emilia as the object of his affections.

Spike Island has been jointly funded by the BBC, the British Film Institute, Bankside and the band Coldplay

When 24-year-old Emilia Clarke found out she’d been cast in HBO’s cult fantasy hit Game of Thrones, she was thrilled…and a little petrified. “It was like, Great, I’m getting my dream job! Wait a second—I have to have my boobs out all the time?” says the British actress about her oft-nude character, Daenerys Targaryen, an exiled princess who’s vying for control of a warring world. Now Clarke’s the pinup girl for fantasy nerds everywhere. “My hair is brown, and Daenerys is a blond, so that allows me to hide!” Clarke says. Game of Thrones’ first season was capped by a thrilling final scene in which Daenerys emerged from ashes, breast-feeding one of her three baby dragons (yes, it was as crazy and fabulous as it sounds). “The dragons were CGI, so I was just butt naked on a cliff, with a brightly colored toy in one hand and dots painted all over me. I had to use my imagination for that one.”

The show returns April 1, and great news: “In season two, I get to wear clothes!” says Clarke. “I’m super happy.”

THE stunning star of swords and sorcery smash Game of Thrones has revealed her secrets for coping with hitting the screen in the buff.

Emilia Clarke, 24, was just out of drama school when she landed the role of a lifetime as the silverhaired princess Daenerys Targaryen in the award-winning series.

But she quickly realised that her wardrobe assistant might have an easy shift because her role demanded frequent nudity. The actress, from Berkshire, admits that, while she was apprehensive about stripping off, she also realised it was a necessary part of the role.

Emilia, who was previously seen in TV soap Doctors and sci-fi adventure Triassic Attack, said: “It was daunting, really scary. This was the first major job I had to do but the nudity was integral to the character. “Her journey sees her going from a girl into a woman, which is also a sexual awakening. As soon as you put yourself there, it’s not about you, the actress, it’s about the character, so that took the fear away. Hopefully, that’s what you see on the screen and not just a naked actress.”

Despite her relative inexperience, Emilia’s portrayal of the teenage royal who becomes a warrior queen has won her global acclaim. She has been listed as one of the most desirable women of 2012 and, along with the rest of the Game of Thrones cast including Sean Bean, Lena Headey and Mark Addy, was nominated in last month’s prestigious Screen Actors’ Guild Awards in Hollywood.
