Hello fellow Emilia fans! We are slowely getting closer and closer to the season 2 of “Game of thrones”, which means that new clips and photos have began to surface online. A few days back, a teaser trailer entitled “Cold winds are rising” appeared online. We only catch a glimpse of Daenerys, but the trailer looks epic!

The Cold Winds TV show teaser trailer for Season 2 of Game of Thrones shows Renly Baratheon (Gethin Anthony), Arya Stark (Maisie Williams), and many familiar faces from Season 1 plus a voice over by Stannis Baratheon (Stephen Dillane). If you have read A Song of Ice and Fire: A Clash of Kings, you know exactly what Stannis is reciting and from where.

If you are new to the series, Game of Thrones is an HBO adaptation of George R.R. Martin’s epic fantasy novel series “A Song of Ice and Fire”. Set in the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, where summers span decades and winters can last a lifetime, Game of Thrones chronicles the violent dynastic struggles among the kingdom’s seven noble families for control of the Iron Throne.

Emilia Clarke is feeling the power of HBO’s Game of Thrones as the UK actress enters talks to play the female lead in Antonio Negret’s Overdrive, which was written by Derek Haas and Michael Brandt, the word-masters behind Wanted and 2 Fast 2 Furious.

Clarke, who played Daenerys Targaryen on Season 1 of Game of Thrones, has a resume that’s not exactly overflowing with previous work, but everyone has to start somewhere and Thrones isn’t a bad launch-pad to use when getting the attention of studios. Overdrive sounds like it will be a decent follow-up punch, letting Clarke rub shoulders with a couple of guys that have their own experiences working in popular franchises. While Clarke is still in negotiations, Karl Urban (Star Trek, Dredd) and Ben Barnes (Chronicles of Narnia) have already signed on for the film that revolves around two brothers that steal cars in the south of France.

There are no details at this time about the role Clarke is being considered for, but as a female lead, we’re probably looking at the slightly clichéd premise of her being the girl in love with both brothers. Of course, she could just as easily be the boss of the car-theft ring. Wouldn’t that be an original twist?

Filming is expected to begin on Overdrive on October 29th in Marseilles so I’d say Clarke is probably guaranteed the role unless the studio already has a back-up on stand-by.

I am super excited about this and a huge congrats to Emilia on getting the role!
